Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken the opportunity to reflect on two important milestones for our business; completing our annual carbon footprint assessment and achieving re-certification against the UK Cyber Essentials standard.
Whilst consulting in quality management and cyber security, we spend much of our time helping clients strengthen their systems, manage risk and demonstrate compliance. Credibility in our field depends on more than advice, it depends on experience and evidence. That’s why we believe it is essential to hold ourselves accountable to the same standards we advocate.
Our annual carbon footprint analysis provides a clear, data-driven view of our environmental impact. This year, as in previous years, we have offset our calculated CO2e through verified carbon reduction projects. Importantly, these initiatives included tree planting within our local region, allowing us not only to contribute to global carbon reduction efforts, but also to invest directly in the sustainable projects supporting communities in which we live and work. Environmental responsibility is not a marketing exercise; it is a long-term commitment to measurement, transparency and continual improvement. Kay would not have this any other way!
Alongside this, we have successfully re-certified against the UK Cyber Essentials standard*. In a landscape of increasing cyber threats, maintaining robust internal controls is fundamental. Re-certification provides independent validation that our own systems meet recognised security requirements, from access control and secure configuration to vulnerability management and patching. For our clients, this offers reassurance that the advisers they trust with sensitive information operate to the standards they’re recommending.
Both achievements reflect a simple principle: keeping our own house in order. Whether it is information security, regulatory compliance or environmental management, we believe that leadership starts with example.
We are proud of these milestones, but we see them not as endpoints, rather as part of an ongoing cycle of review, improvement and accountability, allowing us to focus on supporting our clients to strengthen their organisations.
